Lady Vikings Volleyball Falls to VUU, Thursday Evening

RICHMOND, Va. – The Elizabeth City State University volleyball team fell to Virginia Union University in Broncos Stevens Gym , 1-3 (21-25, 25-19, 21-25, 13-25) Thursday evening.

The Lady Vikings (2-19 overall; 2-6 CIAA) fought a hard fight throughout the first two sets, taking the Panthers (6-7 overall) down to the wire in the first set and winning the second. ECSU tallied eleven kills during the first set with only five errors; while collecting 14 kills in the second set and stealing the match 19-25, tying the game at 1-all.

During the third set, the ladies struggled to catch the upper hand, falling behind 4-0 in the beginning of the set. The Lady Vikings eventually caught back up and threatened to capture the set but the Lady Panthers pulled it off, 21-25. The fourth and deciding set was overtaken by VUU, 13-25.

The Lady Vikings travel to High Point, N.C. Saturday, October 7 to face John Wesley College Tri-Match at Noon.
