PEMBROKE, NC- The UNC-Pembroke Lady Braves defeated Elizabeth City State University 3-1 in Wednesday night in non-conference volleyball action (25-22, 25-21 25-27, 25-15).

With the victory UNCP improves to 9-15 overall and sweeps the season series with ECSU. The Lady Braves won 3-1 back on September 23rd in Elizabeth City.

The difference in the tightly contested match was the home team's edge in total team kills (53-40). The Lady Braves had no one in double digits but used an efficient balanced attack to distance themselves from ECSU. Tiara Anderson and Allie Schneider each had 9 kills to lead Pembroke while Sam Wylie added a match high 31 assists. Defensively the teams were dead even with 7.0 team blocks but UNCP kept ECSU's offense at bay with an 84-76 advantage in digs.

Lia Scott and Eva Johnson each had 10 kills for the Lady Vikings. Oasis Ellison had a career high 18 digs playing in 3 games as the libero.
