LINCOLN, PA- The Lincoln University used a balanced attack to capture a three set sweep of Elizabeth City State University in volleyball action Sunday night at Manuel Rivero Hall.

For the Lady Lions it is their first ever season sweep of ECSU who took the match 27-25, 25-12, 25-15. Emmesha White led ECSU with a double-double of 12 kills and 15 digs for the Lady Vikings who slip to 1-11 on the year (CIAA 1-8). Lincoln had four players with at least 6 kills with Mariah Russell registering a team high 10 kills.

Toni Smith chipped in with 9 kills while Jillian Lee and Soyini Hugget had 6 apiece. Lee added two solo blocks and the Lady Vikings as a team finished with 6 assisted blocks defensively.

With the win the Lady Lions improve to 5-7 overall and 4-5 in the CIAA. At this point they hold the fourth and final seed in the CIAA Northern Division for next month’s CIAA Volleyball Tournament.

The Lady Vikings will wrap up their two game road trip at Bowie State University tomorrow night at 7pm.
