ECSU TENNIS SPLITS WITH SAINT PAUL'S

LAWRENCEVILLE, VA- The Elizabeth City State University Lady Viking tennis team split their season opener with Saint Paul's College Tuesday afternoon. In game one the Lady Vikings edged the Lady Tigers 5-4. The two teams tied with three singles' victories each. Celeste Trahan won her singles match 8-1 while Pamela Wike and Joy Clark each won the respective matches by default. In doubles action the Lady Vikings took two of three matches with the duo of Trahan and Whitaker winning their match 8-4. Like the first event of the day the Lady Tigers and Lady Vikings split the singles matches. The difference would be the doubles matches which Saint Paul's took 2-1 for the 5-4 victory. The Lady Vikings (1-1 overall, CIAA 1-1) will return to action next week against Livingstone College and Johnson C. Smith. For more information on ECSU Athletics, visit www.ecsuvikings.com. |
