Lady Vikings Softball hosts Virginia Union and VSU for Weekend Festivities

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. – The Elizabeth City State University softball team hosts Virginia Union University Saturday, April 8 before hosting Virginia State University for its Senior Day home finale on Sunday, April 9.

Saturday’s contest begins at Noon; while Sunday’s senior day ceremony is slated for 12:15 p.m. The Lady Vikings enter Saturday’s contests with a 1-18 overall record and 0-4 in the CIAA.

Senior hurler Kelsey White spearheads ECSU with a .318 batting average in 19 games played. White has recorded 14 hits in 44 at bats, with 21 total bases, nine runs scored, nine runs batted in, four doubles, and a homer. She leads the team in slugging percentage with .477 and an on base percentage with .388.

The team collectively is averaging a .178 at the plate; including 65 hits total, 39 runs, 32 runs batted in, 15 doubles, a triple, and a homer. Teams are hitting .475 against ECSU; including 268 hits, 286 runs scored, 247 runs batted in, 49 doubles, 22 triples, and 16 homers on the season.

White also leads the team in pitching with a 12.14 earned run average with a 1-10 record in 17 appearances.
