LADY HUSKIES DEFEAT LADY VIKINGS 14-1; SWEEP THURSDAY'S DOUBLE HEADER

ELIZABETH CITY, NC- The Bloomsburg University Lady Huskies downed the Elizabeth City State University Lady Vikings 14-1 in game two of a doubleheader Thursday afternoon. By the completion of two innings, the Lady Huskies put the game out of reach in totaling 9 nine runs, 6 in the first and 3 in the second. By game's end the visitors had 14 runs on 16 hits and two Lady Viking errors. Bloomsburg (5-6) was led by Tara Emery who went 4-for-4 with 2 RBIs while Kristin Castano drove in 6 runs in four trips to the plate. The Lady Vikings would never get it going offensively with the only exception being a RBI double by Tiffany Smith which scored Shaneetha Holley in the bottom of the 4th inning. The Lady Vikings fall to 0-6 on the year. ECSU will return to action on Saturday, March 18, 2006 as they travel to face North Carolina Central University. The CIAA doubleheader will begin at 1:00pm.
