Megan Chapman enters her first season at ECSU as Head Softball Coach.Chapman comes to the Vikings from Pfeiffer University, where she held the position as assistant coach.

At Pfeiffer, she helped guide the Falcons to back to back regional final appearances. Also, she mentored freshmen Makenzie Pennell; who broke the single season record for batting average and received Conference Carolina's Freshmen of the Year awards, and several player of the week selections.

In 2016 with Chapman’s leadership, the Falcon’s set the single-season wins record, broke career home-run record, and won the Conference Carolinas Tournament Championship. In 2017 they set another new single season wins record, became Conference Carolinas regular season champions, and reached a three spot in NCAA National Rankings.

Prior to Pfeiffer, Chapman was the head softball coach for Cannon School where she led the Cougars to their first play-off run since 2012. After her playing career ended, Chapman served as the assistant softball coach for Valley City State University in North Dakota. At VCSU, she served as the infield defensive coordinator and also assisted with hitting instruction.

During her tenure at VCSU Chapman helped guide the Vikings to their first regular season conference championship since 1990 and mentored the NSAA Conference Player of the Year selection in infielder Brittany Lehner. Chapman was a four year starter at short-stop for Division I Winthrop University from 2008-12. Chapman and her two dogs, Kyra and Petey now resides in Elizabeth City, N.C.
