Affa-Shawntae McCray rolled a team best 210 which represented the third highest total for day one at the CIAA Eastern Division Event III on Friday on the campus of Elizabeth City State University.
 
 
LADY TIGERS IN FIRST PLACE AFTER DAY ONE OF EASTERN DIVISION BOWLING EVENT III

ELIZABETH CITY, NC-The Saint Paul's College Lady Tigers posted a perfect 5-0 record to take the lead after day one's competition at the CIAA Eastern Division Event III held on the campus of Elizabeth City State University.

The Lady Tigers totaled a team average of 879 with the day's best pin fall count of 4,405. Jessica New led all bowlers on the day with an average of 211 (1057 over 5 games), with her personal best going for 235. Bowie State and Virginia State boast the same match record of 3-2 but the Lady Bulldogs due to a higher total pin count (4011 to 3823) hold the advantage with a team average of 787 to 755 for the Lady Trojans. ECSU is currently in fourth place overall with a 2-3 record followed by Virginia Union who was held winless on the day at 0-5.

Victoria Hosgood (Bowie State) and Daria Ruttler (Saint Paul's) hold the second and third average highs for day one behind Jessica New with 190 and 178, respectively. New (235), Hosgood (224) and the 210 rolled by Affa-Shawntae McCray (ECSU) represented the best individual scratch games on the afternoon.
