ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. -- The Elizabeth City State University women's basketball team thrashed Livingstone College 84-57 Monday evening in the R.L. Vaughan Center. It was ECSU's second conference win on the season.

The Lady Vikings went into the half up, 50-23. ECSU shot 42.9 percent from the field, 20 percent from behind the arc, and 75 percent from the foul line during the second half; while holding the Blue Bears to shooting under 33.3 percent from the field, 30 percent from behind the arc, and 56.3 percent from the free-throw line.

For the game, the Elizabeth City State shot 43.3 percent from the floor, 28.6 percent from downtown, and 77.8 percent from the candy stripe; while LC shot 32.2 percent from the field, 31.3 percent from downtown, and 56 percent from the candy stripe.

Senior guard Jalyn Brown recorded 24 points to lead all scorers in double-figures; while freshman guard Makayla Sutton added a career-high 14 points, and sophomore guard Anaya Eason tallied 10 in the victory for ECSU.

Kyala Searcy led the way for the Blue Bears with 14 points and Jade Porter added 10, rounding out all scorers in double-figures.

The Lady Vikings are set to face the Newport News Apprentice School in Newport News on Wednesday, January 31 at 5:30 p.m.
