WILLIAM WHITE TO BE FEATURED IN PGA MINORITY GOLF HIGHLIGHT SHOW

William White will be one of six features on the 2015 PGA Minority Collegiate Golf Championship Highlight Show tonight (July 1st) on Golf Channel.

ELIZABETH CITY, NC- Elizabeth City State University’s William White will be one of six features on the 2015 PGA Minority Collegiate Golf Championship Highlight Show tonight on Golf Channel.

The program will debut at 7:00pm tonight with replays scheduled to air on Golf Channel on Tuesday, July 7, from 3:00 – 4:00pm and Tuesday, July 21, from 2:00 – 3:00 pm.

William White wrapped the 2014-2015 season as one of the CIAA’s top golfers. He nabbed All-CIAA and All-Tournament honors as the low medalist at the 2015 CIAA Golf Championship where the Vikings finished in third place overall. At ECSU's post season awards ceremony, White was honored as the Viking Male Athlete of the Year, golf team MVP and sporting a GPA 3.875, received the Chancellor's Scholar (Male) Athlete of the Year award.

An accounting major who hails from Elizabeth City, NC, White finished 13th overall in a field of 34 individual competitors at the PGA Minority Golf Championship in May. Later that month he was named to the CIAA Commissioner’s All Academic First Team.

Other stories on this evening’s broadcast will include profiles on Earl Cooper, PGA, of the Wilmington (Del.) Country Club, Tiana Jones from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Loritz “Scooter” Clark, head coach golf coach at Bethune-Cookman University and the Chua Sisters. The show will also feature a tribute to golf pioneers Charlie Sifford, Calvin Peete and Pete Brown.

The program will cap off an exciting afternoon as it will follow the final round of the PGA Professional National Championship broadcast, also on Golf Channel from 2:00-5:00pm. If the final round of the Championship runs long and pre-empts the Highlight Show, Golf Channel will move the debut airing to Wednesday July, 29th at 7:00pm. The other two airings on July 7th and 21st will remain unchanged.
