VIKINGS FINISH STRONG AT PGA MINORITY GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP

Curtis Vinson tied for 17th overall PGA Minority Golf Championship this past weekend.

PORT ST. LUCIE, FL- Two members of the Elizabeth City State University golf team wrapped up the weekend top twenty finishes at the PGA Minority Golf Championship at PGA Golf Club.

William White finished the three-round event with a score of 235 for to nab 13th overall in the field of 34 individual competitors. After shooting an 87 on the first day, White bounced back to score 74 in each of the final two rounds. He and fellow Viking Curtis Vinson posted top two scores of all CIAA individual performers; Vinson's score of 245 tied for 17th overall with Josiah Brown of Texan Southern University.

Dominique Worthen of LeMoyne-Owen College took the men's individual championship with a 217. In the men's Division II team competition, the CIAA's Livingstone College finished third behind Cal- State Dominguez Hills and Texas A&M International.

The women's team from Bethune-Cookman women claimed a record 12th overall PGA Minority Golf Championship and their fourth consecutive while Tiana Jones (University of Maryland Eastern Shore) took the women's individual crown.
