The ELizabeth City State golf team finished in third place at the 2015 CIAA Golf Championship.

CHARLOTTE, NC- The Elizabeth City State University golf team finished in third place at the 2015 CIAA Golf Championship held April 16-17 at Larkhaven Golf Club.

Three Vikings landed on the 2015 All-CIAA Team; William White, Tyler Futrell and Curtis Vinson. White and Brandon Jobe of Fayetteville State were tied for first (150) after two days and 18 holes of playing setting up a sudden death playoff for low medalist honors.

White earned the 2015 Golf Champion low medalist and All-Tournament team honors after topping Jobe in the sudden death playoff. He shot an impressive 68 on the final day which led the entire field.

Tyler Futrell (162) and Curtis Vinson (165) tied at 11th at 14th overall, respectively, in route to All-Conference honors.

Livingstone College won the CIAA Championship after turning in a two-day team score of 625. As a team, the Blue Bears shaved 15 strokes off of their first round score) to card a 305 in the second round. Chowan posted a team score of 309 on Friday after turning in a 326 in the opening round. ECSU finished in third place (650) followed by Fayetteville State University and Johnson C. Smith University who finished tied for fourth place with team scores of 666.

Virginia Union University finished in sixth place (766) with Virginia State University (846) and Saint Augustine's University (1,024) finishing in seventh and eighth place, respectively.
