FOUR VIKING FOOTBALL PLAYERS NAMED TO DAKTRONICS ALL-SOUTHEAST REGION TEAM

Kevin Dodson, the 2006 CIAA Special Teams Player of the Year, was named the Daktronics All-Southeast Region Defensive Team. He will now be placed on the national ballot for All-American consideration.

SEARCY, AK- Four members of the Elizabeth City State University football team have been voted to the 2006 Daktronics All-Southeast Region Team.

Linebacker Emanuel Plummer and punter Kevin Dodson were placed on the First Team Defense. Landing on the Second Team for offense and defense respectively is wide receiver Chris Carter and defensive lineman Maceo Thomas. All of the ECSU honorees were seniors on this season's squad which posted the best record in school history (9-3), advanced to the 2006 CIAA Championship game and the NCAA Division II Playoffs (first appearance since 1981).

Senior linebacker Emanuel Plummer, a member of the All-CIAA Defensive First Team, is now up for All-American honors after being voted to the Daktronics All-Southeast Region Defensive Team.


Dodson, who became the Vikings all-time career leader in punts (279) and punting yardage (10,778) was the voting leader at his position. He and Plummer will now move on the national All-America ballot and the final team will be announced on December 13th.
