ECSU Football Lends Helping Hand to Food Bank of Elizabeth City

Nov. 17, 2017

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. – The Elizabeth City State University football team visited the Food Bank of Elizabeth City to lend a helping hand bagging food for the less fortunate during the holidays with other student-athletes from the university on Thursday evening.

The Vikings bagged food items, particularly apples. The Food Bank provides food to the less fortunate so it was rewarding to be able to help in anyway, particularly since it is the holiday season.

"It was a pleasure for me and the players to go and serve at the food bank,” stated defensive coordinator Marcus Hillard. “Hopefully, we made an impact on the service we provided and displayed to the people that ECSU loves this community like the community loves ECSU."
