HAMPTON, VA- Four members of the Elizabeth City State University football team were named to the 2010 CIAA All-Rookie Team as voted on by the conference's Sports Information Directors.

The Vikings, who finished the season at 6-4 overall, placed two on each side of the ball.

On the offensive side, lineman David Gatlin and kicker Devon Pike were recognized. Gatlin a native of Washington, DC, helped block for a line that boasted the second best rushing offense in the CIAA in 2010, including the Vikings first 1,000 yard rusher since 1994 in sophomore tailback Daronte McNeill. Warner Robins, GA native Devon Pike got the nod after serving as the primary kicker for ECSU this season, tying at 4th in scoring (kick), 5th in field goals and 4th in PAT conversions going 34-37.

Defensively ECSU was represented by linebacker William Davis and cornerback Nigel Rios. Davis, who hails from Chesapeake, VA finished the season with 41 tackles, which placed him 6th overall on the ECSU squad. Rios, a native of Washington, DC finished the season with two interceptions and two blocked kicks to go along with 17 tackles.
