BOWIE STATE WINS THREE-WAY TIEBREAKER; ADVANCES TO CIAA FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

HAMPTON, VA- Bowie State University won the three-way tiebreaker which took place at the CIAA Office on Sunday afternoon at 1:00pm.

This officially ends the 2009 campaign Elizabeth City State at 7-3 overall and 5-2 in conference play.

The accounting firm of Cavanaugh and Nelson administered the coin toss tiebreaker, where the three contending Athletic Directors simultaneously flipped coins; Bowie State Interim AD, Arlene Creek, flipped a tail versus two heads tossed by Virginia Union and Elizabeth City State.

The Bulldogs (6-4, CIAA 5-2) are now crowned the Eastern Division Champions and move on to face Fayetteville State (7-3, CIAA 6-1) next Saturday at Durham County Stadium in Durham, NC.
