ECSU Hosts UNC-Pembroke for Military/ECSU Alumni NFL Day

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. – The Elizabeth City State University football team hosts UNC-Pembroke Saturday, September 9 in Roebuck Stadium for its Military/ECSU Alumni NFL Day at 1 p.m.

All active duty military, reserve, retired, and veteran personnel with a valid military ID will be admitted for FREE into Saturday's game. Riding a 34-23 victory over Central State University last Saturday in Wilberforce, Ohio, the Vikings return home to play its home opener against a Braves team that was ranked No. 19 in the Division II polls a week ago before falling to Winston Salem State University by a deficit of three points last week at home.

ECSU dominated the second half in last week’s victory, holding CSU to only nine second half points and to only 108 yards in the second half. Gregory Bryan led ECSU's running game with 106 yards on four carries and a touchdown, while junior linebacker Miacah Cooper, III led the defense with 12 tackles, including a sack and a tackle for a loss. Daquan Neal finished the game with 231 yards on 20-for-35 passing, including an interception, two touchdowns passing and one rushing. Sayquan Holder led all receivers with 98 yards and a score; while Deon Yarborough added 78 yards on six catches and a score.
