ECSU Football Begins Spring Training Camp

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. – The Elizabeth City State University football team will open its spring training camp today, March 8 at Roebuck Stadium beginning at 3 p.m. till 5 p.m.

After going 5-5 overall record, going 4-3 in conference play, and 3-2 in the Northern Division a season ago, head coach Earnest Wilson and his football team are looking to have an even better season, this year.

Throughout last season, Elizabeth City State climbed the rankings in the Northern Division and had a run to appear at the 2016 CIAA Football Championship after upsetting division rivals Chowan University (40-21) and Virginia Union University (24-21); which earned Wilson the 2016 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association Coach of the Year Award.

Spring Practices are as follows (dates and times are subject to change):

• March 8-10 Practices will be from 3-5 p.m.

• Off during Spring Break Week (March 13-17)

• After Spring Break: Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Scrimmages on Saturday (3-5 p.m. each day)

• April 8 – Spring Game and Viking Fest
