CARTHEN, MOORE SELECTED TO PLAY IN AMERICAN HERITAGE BOWL

ELIZABETH CITY, NC- Elizabeth City State University football seniors Jeremy Carthen and Greg Moore are two of eight student-athletes from CIAA member schools that are participating in the 2008 American Heritage Bowl sponsored by the Fight On Foundation.

The game will take place on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at Titan Field on the campus of Cal State Fullerton in Fullerton, CA. The game is scheduled to kick-off at 6:15pm and it will follow the Southern California Bowl, a high school All-Star game.

This past season both Carthen and Moore were First Team All-CIAA performers for the Vikings. Carthen led the team in tackles with 91 which ranked second in the CIAA while Moore ranked second in the league in sacks and sixth overall in tackles for loss.

Other CIAA participants include DeAudra Dix, Ralph Mann and Frederick Williams of Johnson C. Smith, Jarret Jackson and Elihu Smith of Virginia Union University and Garry Battle of Fayetteville State University.
