Dominique Byrd and the ECSU Vikings were picked to finish third overall in the CIAA Northern Division at the Annual CIAA Basketball Press Conference.

CHARLOTTE, NC- The 2013-2014 CIAA Basketball season kicked off Thursday morning as the preseason All-CIAA team and predicted order of finish was released at the annual basketball press conference at the Sheraton Charlotte Hotel

The Elizabeth City State Vikings were picked to finish third in the CIAA Northern Division behind defending champion Bowie State University and The Lincoln University as voted by the CIAA men's basketball coaches association.

For the second straight year Winston-Salem State University was picked to finish atop the CIAA Southern Division.

ECSU finished last season 17-11 overall (CIAA 9-7) good for second place in the CIAA Northern Division. Their season ended at the hands of Livingstone College in the semifinals of the 2013 CIAA Tournament.
