Men’s Basketball Schedule Announced

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. – Elizabeth City State University men’s basketball coach John Hill has finalized the 2017-18 schedule. The 26-game schedule includes 12 home games, 10 road contests, and four games played on a neutral court.

Hill’s first edition of the Vikings will receive early season tests with a game to start the season traveling to West Virginia to compete in the WVSU “Earl Boyd” Classic, (Nov. 10-11), before hosting Barton College in its home opener, Nov. 14.

“This year’s schedule will definitely bring about many challenges,” Hill stated. “However; we are preparing to meet the rigorous demands of our 2017-18 schedule. Please come out and support.”

The Vikings will then find themselves boarding the bus to head to Richmond, Va. to face St. Augustine’s and Winston-Salem State University in the VUU Holiday Inn West End Classic, (Nov. 25-26).

ECSU will be on the road traveling most of the month of December, facing Shaw (December 14), St. Augustine’s (December 16), and Nova Southeastern (December 19) before closing out the year on December 30 hosting Bluefield State, which begins a six-game home slate.

In January, Elizabeth City State hosts Livingston (Jan. 04), Johnson C. Smith (Jan. 6), Winston-Salem State (Jan. 8) and Chowan (Jan. 13) before stepping out of conference to face Norfolk State University in an exhibition contest on Jan. 15 in Norfolk, Va.

ECSU hosts Fayetteville State (Jan. 17) and Lincoln (Jan. 20) before traveling to Petersburg and Richmond, Va. to take on Virginia State (Jan. 24) and Virginia Union (Jan. 27). The Vikings will host Mid-Atlantic Christian (Jan. 30) before completing the second half of its conference division schedule, hosting Bowie at home for its Winter Homecoming, February 3.

Elizabeth City State then travels up the road to Murfreesboro, N.C. to face rival Chowan, before traveling to face Lincoln (PA) (Feb. 10) and Fayetteville State (Feb. 14). The Vikings will host Virginia State (Feb. 17) and Virginia Union (Feb. 21) for Senior Day before traveling to Bowie, Md. to face Bowie State for their season finale (Feb. 24).
