Vikings Seek First Road Victory at Livingstone, Thursday Evening

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. – The Elizabeth City State University men’s team returns to conference play facing Livingstone College in New Trent Gymnasium Thursday, January 5 at 7:30 p.m.

The Vikings (1-11; 0-3) are coming off a 68-56 defeat to Barton College before the break in the Vaughan Center. Senior forward Jordan Jones recorded a team-high 13 points and grabbed nine boards in the effort.

As a team for the season, ECSU is shooting .417 percent from the field, .270 percent from behind the arc, and .682 percent from the candy stripe. Elizabeth City State gets outshot by its opponents 949 to 836.

Senior guard Elon Edwards comes off the bench to lead the team with 12.7 points per contest; while Jones and Johnathan Richardson pace the team with 5.3 boards per contest.

ECSU shoots .374 percent from the floor, .273 percent from downtown, and .792 percent from the line in conference action. The Vikings have struggled this season taking control of a game, being outshot by their opponents in conference play as well (219 to 184).

LC (3-8; 0-2) enters Friday’s contest after defeating Paine College 85-73 this past Saturday at home. As a team, the Blue Bears average 75.2 points per contest; while shooting .438 percent from the field, .355 percent from the candy stripe, and .630 percent from the line.
