Final Stats

TAKOMA PARK, MD- Anthony Hilliard scored 28 points and pulled down 16 rebounds to lead the Elizabeth City State Vikings past Columbia Union College 85-57 Saturday evening.

After holding a slim 37-36 lead at the intermission the Vikings blew the game open with a 30-8 run in the second half. ECSU recovered from a poor shooting first half by going 19-37 from the floor in the second stanza (51.4 %). Conversely the Pioneers (1-10) only connected on 8 shots from the field in the second half and were out-rebounded by the Vikings 57-30 in the game.

DeJuan Morrison was the only other Viking in double figures contributing 11 points. Mark Moore paced the Pioneers with 19 points off the bench.

ECSU (9-1) will begin 2009 with a cross divisional match-up with Shaw University on January 6th in Raleigh, NC. Game time is scheduled for 7:30pm at Spaulding Gymnasium. For more information on ECSU Athletics, visit www.ecsuvikings.com.
