ELIZABETH CITY, NC- The Elizabeth City State University athletic department is saddened to announce the passing of former baseball player Jami Moore.

A native of Reidsville, NC, Jami transferred from Rockingham Community College to complete his baseball career and degree at Elizabeth City State. He played catcher for three seasons for the Vikings (2004-2006) and graduated from ECSU in May of 2007 with a B.S. in Health and Physical Education.

“I am deeply saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Jami Moore”, says Terrance Whittle who coached Jamie during his tenure at ECSU. “I’m honored and blessed to have known him and am fortunate that he has made a lasting imprint on my life. I’m grateful that he chose to spend a portion of his life with me and so many others here at ECSU. His zest for life was evident by the passion he displayed, the people he touched and his love for others. Jami had an infectious spirit and energy. We offer our prayers and God’s comfort during this difficult time to his mother Pam Moore and the rest of his family.”

Jami was a member of ECSU’s 2005 CIAA Baseball Championship team, the first baseball crown in school history.
